Computer scientists and mathematicians from across the greater midwest region gathered at CSE on December 6, 2014 for the 66th Midwest Theory Day. This event is a semiannual tradition among CS theorists in the Midwest, aiming to be an opportunity for the community to meet each other, share research findings, and initiate collaborations.
The invited speaker was David Steurer, Assistant Professor at Cornell University, whose talk was entitled “Lower Bounds on the Size of Semidefinite Programming Relaxations.” Organized by Prof. Anna C. Gilbert, Prof. Martin J. Strauss, and Dr. Ilya Volkovich.
